Cookie Policy
UAB APP FOREST · Version 1.0 · Last updated
Draft — effective at launch, last updated . UAB APP FOREST is in formation. This policy is published for transparency and takes legal effect once the company is incorporated and its registration details are completed.
This Cookie Policy explains the cookies UAB APP FOREST (“Foresttasks”) sets when you use the platform and website at foresttasks.app. The short version: we set only a handful of strictly-necessary cookies, and nothing for analytics, advertising, or tracking. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember information between requests — for example, that you are signed in. Some cookies are strictly necessary for a site to work; others (which we do not use) track behaviour or serve advertising.
2. The only cookies we set
Every cookie below is strictly necessary to operate the service securely. We set no others.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you signed in to your Foresttasks account after authentication, so you do not have to log in on every page. Set by our authentication layer (Better Auth). | Persistent — up to about 30 days, until it expires or you sign out. |
| OAuth state / PKCE cookie | Used only during “Sign in with Google” to securely correlate the sign-in request with the response and prevent interception of the OAuth flow. | Short-lived — exists only for the few moments of the sign-in exchange. |
| CSRF token cookie | A security token that protects against cross-site request forgery, ensuring requests that change your data genuinely came from you. | Session / short-lived, tied to your authenticated session. |
These are first-party cookies. None of them profiles you, tracks you across other websites, or is used for advertising.
3. Why there is no cookie-consent banner
Under the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR, consent is required for cookies that are not strictly necessary — chiefly analytics and advertising cookies. Strictly-necessary cookies, like the ones above, are exempt: they are essential to deliver a service you have explicitly requested (signing in and keeping your session secure). Because those are the only cookies we set, there is nothing that requires consent — so we do not show a consent banner. We consider an honest, banner-free experience the point, not a loophole.
4. Cookies we do not set
We do not set, and do not permit third parties to set, any:
- analytics or measurement cookies;
- advertising, retargeting, or cross-context behavioural advertising cookies;
- social-media or other third-party tracking cookies.
There are no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs anywhere in Foresttasks, so no such cookies exist to manage.
5. Managing cookies
You can view, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings — every major browser lets you do this. Because the cookies we use are strictly necessary, please note that blocking or deleting them will break sign-in: you will not be able to log in or stay signed in to Foresttasks. As we set no optional cookies, there is no in-product cookie toggle to configure.
6. Changes to this policy
If we ever change the cookies we use, we will update this page (and its version and “last updated” date) before the change takes effect. Were we ever to introduce a non-essential cookie, we would ask for your consent first.
